Constituents should be aware that HDC is increasing the cost of its annual rural parking disc by 11% from July. This will affect Billingshurst Library car park, Six Bells, Roffey Godwin Way and other rural car parks in the District.
It is disappointing that this follows HDC’s significant increase to parking charges (by 60 per cent for Piries car park) in Horsham Town Centre car parks earlier this year.
As I made clear back in December, every effort must be made to keep costs for residents as low as possible. For some residents, especially in the rural areas of the District, cars are essential and they are parking in many cases to support local shops in our villages.
